What activities occur during the Extended Day Program?

Extended Day was designed to give students a quality preschool experience in a less structured environment than in our morning program.  Low ratios provide for close supervision.  Daily activities include academics, phonics, math, science, story time, craft projects, art, puzzles, building, housekeeping, computers and more.

Many of the activities reinforce what goes on in the mornings.  Less structure encourages creativity, cooperative learning, listening and communication skills. Supervision and activities are directed by regular CASY Teachers, not college students.

Optional Clubhouse Programs 2:45 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. – Clubhouse is less structured and generally more relaxed than our other programs.  Children enjoy some teacher directed activities, snack and free play in a safe and well supervised environment.

Clubhouse is a play group from 2:45 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mondays: Science Explorers
Development of the curious mind might be the greatest gift we can give a preschooler.  Our science explorers will improve their logic, ability to predict, vocabulary and observation skills while having fun with science.

Introduce your child to the love of dance through fun and aerobic creative movement. We will learn steps from ballroom, hip hop, ballet and dances from around the world. Our instructor, Ms. Suzie has taught dance for over 20 years and fills every class with fun and success! There is an additional charge for dance for all students, except for full-time students.

Wednesdays: Gymnastics
Fantastic gymnastics fun! Classes incorporate basic gymnastic moves. Strength, balance and flexibility are emphasized. There is an additional charge for gymnastics for all students, except for full-time students. Gymnastics is only available to students attending the preschool extended day program.

Thursdays: Yoga
Downward dog, flamingo pose, half-moon, bridge and cobra poses – children love to move their bodies and will enjoy our thirty minute yoga sessions. We will practice fun-filled yoga poses and learn how to focus through proper breathing techniques all while conducting appropriate safe poses. Yoga helps kids develop physical strength, flexibility, calm minds, open hearts, self-confidence, relaxation and concentration. Taught by Ms. Suzie, this is a great afternoon activity and children will learn to love the art of yoga! Namaste!

Fridays: Showtime
You would have to see how much serious fun our students have singing into a microphone during karaoke.  Break dancing to our beat box develops rhythm, coordination, and is great exercise with occasional skits and puppets.  Friday is an absolute blast!
